Indian Health Services (IHS) Reimbursements as approved February 20, 2024:

The following burial assistance is for all tribal members of the McGrath Native Village must fill out form.

For the death of a tribal member of the McGrath Native Village, $1000.00 will go to next-of-kin handling the tribal members finances.

For the death of non-tribal member who is the immediate family of a tribal member of the McGrath Native Village, such as a parent, child, sibling, spouse/significant other, or grandchild, $350.00 will go to the next-of-kin handling the finances.

The following reimbursements are for ALL tribal members, enrolled in the McGrath Native Village who have paid out-of-pocket expenses for the following:

For Elders 55+: Up to $1000.00 per year in reimbursements which may include eyeglasses, years supply of contacts, yearly exam, contact fitting, Lasik eye surgery, or other vision related care.

For All Other Tribal Members: Up to $500.00 per year in reimbursements which may include eyeglasses, years supply of contacts, yearly exam, Lasik eye surgery, or other vision related care.

No reimbursements will be made for cosmetic lenses for any of the above vision reimbursements, including polarized lenses, tinting, colored contacts, etc. No reimbursements will be made for portions covered by insurance.

For Elders 55+: Up to $1000.00 per year for all dental care.

      Full payment of dentures or partial dentures every 5 years.

For All Other Tribal Members: Up to $500.00 per year for all dental care.

No reimbursements will be made for cosmetics (excluding braces). No reimbursements will be made for portions already covered by insurance.

For Elders 55+: Full payment for hearing aids every 5 years. 

This covers the hearing aids only; no reimbursements will be made for audiology appointments, aid check-up, fittings, hearing instrument batteries, electroacoustic analysis, conformity evaluation, aural rehab, dispensing fees, or other fees associated with the hearing aids. No reimbursements will be made for portions covered by insurance. Must include doctor’s prescription for hearing aids with billing sheet/receipts.

For All Other Tribal Members: Up to $1500.00 every 5 years.

All Tribal Member: Full payment for CPAP machine and humidifier Respironics; once in a lifetime reimbursement/purchase per tribal member. 

This covers the CPAP machine and humidifier Respironics only; no reimbursements will be made for quarterly supplies. No reimbursements will be made for portions covered by insurance. Must include doctor’s prescription for CPAP machine with billing sheet/receipts.

Reimbursement

Detailed Receipts (including description of services and breakdown of the eyeglasses, dental work, etc.), or Billing Sheets on official letterhead (including dollar amount covered by insurance) and proof of payment (credit card receipts, checks) must be submitted for all reimbursements.

For tribal members who are dually enrolled: tribal members must disclose IHS reimbursements made by the other tribes for receipts they are submitting, so payments are not duplicated. IHS funds are limited and easily depleted; double dipping is not allowed.
